Association (LMA), in
cooperation with the DNR
and the Leaf
Valley Sportsman Club,
conducts annual stocking of
walleye fry and/or fingerlings.
In addition to the Association
stocking, the DNR also stocks
Lake Miltona. |

2021 Stocking Report |
|
The Association received
a permit to stock 1000
pounds of walleye
fry in October
2021. Stocking was done
into shallower water at
two locations. Shallow
water is thought to
reduce predation as they
are stocked. Stocking of
fingerlings was also
done by the DNR. |

35,000 fingerlings were
stocked, at an
approximate length of
4-6 inches. Because the
DNR is limited on
stocking due to COVID
and budgets, the
Association hopes to
continue our
supplemental stocking in
Lake Miltona to ensure
fish are being put in
annually on a consistent
basis. |

|
|
We have made a
commitment to the grower
to continue this process
for three more years,
permitting allowed, and
the grower will have
fish available for us.
We have two more years
under this agreement. |

2020 Stocking Report |
| The
Association received a permit this year
to stock 1300 pounds of walleye
fingerlings from the Minnesota DNR in
October 2020. We witnessed the weighing
of the fish, and the dispersment into
the lake. The fingerlings were
approximately 4-6 inch. Each pound
included approximately 24-25
fingerlings, totally approximately
40,000. A commitment has been made with
the grower to continue this process for
3 more years, permitting allowed. |

2017 Stocking Report |
|
DNR stocked
2,759,000 Walleye fry in
the fall of 2017. They
also stocked 1403
Muskelunge fingerlings. |

2016 Stocking Report |
|
With increased funds, LMA and
its stocking partners were able
to stock 1100 pounds of walleye
fingerlings between Fall 2015
and Spring 2016. The fish count
survey from last fall was very
positive for Lake Miltona so the
efforts are affecting results.
